What to Watch: Christmas

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a joyous holiday season. This week brings some big movies to the theater from all genres! It’s all a matter of what you want to see. Let’s take a look at all of the options for the big holiday week!

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Starring: Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac
The final episode of the sequel trilogy finds the Resistance facing off against the First Order in one final epic battle. Will the dark or light side prevail? This is a cinematic event not to be missed!

Cats
Starring: Francesca Hayward, Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson
Sure, the critics hate Cats, Some say it’s “nightmare fuel. But let me ask you something, do you really want to miss human/CGI Cats singing show tunes on the big screen? Do you want to look your children in the eyes one day and say, “I never saw Skimbleshanks the railway cat tap dance in the theater. I never saw the Jellicle Ball happen in a row of confused audience members who kept saying ‘what’s going on right now?’” Not me. I have seen this in theaters and I wear that as a badge of honor.

Bombshell
Starring: Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman
Bombshell tells the story of the disturbing workplace environment at Fox News under CEO Roger Ailes. Charlize Theron portrays Megyn Kelly in an incredible transformation that anchors the film. This is not an upbeat film for the holiday season, but it is certainly a necessary one.

Little Women
Starring: Saoirse Ronan, Timothee Chalamet, Laura Dern, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh
Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel has been adapted to the big screen many times. This time around it’s updated by Greta Gerwig with an A-list cast that needs to be seen to be believed. This is a timeless story full of love, heartbreak, and humor. It’s the perfect film for women of all ages to see this holiday season highlighting the importance of women’s voices in society.
