There are a few films to keep your eye on at the theater this weekend before the massive blockbuster explosion happens next weekend known as Star Wars. Let’s see what’s rolling into theaters!
Jumanji: The Next Level
Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan
After 2017’s Jumanji was a box-office smash, the characters return to face yet another game. I’m sure wild hijinks will ensue. I’m actually looking forward to this. The last Jumanji was surprisingly funny and charming. My excitement for this movie has nothing to do with the fact that Nick Jonas is returning for the sequel. It’s not like I’m a big fan and have seen him on tour twice this year. I’m just really invested in the plot.
Richard Jewell
Starring: Paul Walter Hauser, Sam Rockwell, Olivia Wilde, Kathy Bates
Clint Eastwood’s latest film follows the events of the Centennial Olympic Park bombing at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. As many may know, Richard Jewell found the bomb and saved many lives by spotting it. However, he quickly became a suspect in the eyes of the FBI and the media. It’s a tragic story of a man wrongfully accused. As an Atlanta native, I’m interested to see how it’s brought to the big screen.
