The Current War
Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch, Nicholas Hoult, Tom Holland
At one point, it seemed that this film would never see the light of day. It was poised for an awards-season release in 2017, but due to the Harvey Weinstein scandal, it was shelved because The Weinstein Company was its distributor. Two years after the scandal, The Current War has finally found a new distributor (101 Studios) and release date this weekend. The film is about the “war of the currents” between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse.
Dolemite Is My Name
Starring: Eddie Murphy, Keegan Michael Key, Wesley Snipes, Craig Robinson
Eddie Murphy stars as the actor Rudy Ray More, best known for creating the character Dolemite, who specialized in stand-up comedy and starred in a series of Blaxploitation films. The role is said to be an acting showcase for Murphy, potentially even pushing him into an awards season run. The best part? You can stream it on Netflix now!
The Lighthouse
Starring: Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe
This black and white tale tells of two lighthouse keepers stuck in close quarters who slowly begin to lose their sanity. It’s the follow-up film from director Robert Eggers, who made The VVitch and it looks to be quite eerie and claustrophobic.
Parasite

Director Bong-Joon Ho’s critically acclaimed film has impressed audiences at various film festivals, even taking home the top prize at Cannes. It looks like it could be on its way to a significant awards season run based on all of the buzz. Now is your chance to see what everyone is talking about.
