What to Watch: October 11th

It’s a bit of a low-key weekend at the movies compared to the massive Joker release we saw last week. That doesn’t mean there aren’t still things to see! Take a look at the new releases and see what you should watch on your visit to the theater!

Gemini Man
Starring: Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen
Two Will Smith’s in one movie? That’s right, there are two Will Smith’s in Gemini Man. He plays a clone of himself in this futuristic sci-fi thriller about an assassin who becomes a target of an operative that knows his every move. Reviews are very mixed early on, but they cloned Will Smith…that has to count for something. Director Ang Lee filmed Gemini Man in 120fps (the same way he filmed Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk). Very few theaters are actually showing the film in the intended format. I guess the technology is just too advanced.

The Addams Family
Starring: Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloe Moretz, Snoop Dogg
This family friendly animated revamp of The Addams Family arrives just in time for the Halloween season. Voice talent includes Oscar Isaac as Gomez Adams, Charlize Theron as Morticia Adams, Snoop Doog as Cousin It, and Martin Short as Grandpa Frump.

Jexi
Starring: Adam Devine, Rose Byrne, Alexandra Shipp, Ron Funches
A guy gets a new phone, only to find that it’s artificial intelligence software is trying to ruin his life. This looks like it’s trying to cover the themes presented in the movie Her in a comedic way. Adam Devine can be pretty funny, but I’m not sure if I can expect too much based on this trailer.
