As the dog days of summer continue, it’s the perfect time to catch a movie. This weekend, you can see a coming-of-age story set to the tunes of Bruce Springsteen, solve the mystery of Cate Blanchett’s disappearance, or try to escape some terrifying sharks. What should you watch?
Blinded by the Light
Starring: Viveik Kalra, Dean-Charles Chapman, Hayley Atwell
A Pakistani teenager living in Luton, England feels trapped by his stifling surroundings, until he discovers the music of Bruce Springsteen and becomes inspired to follow his dreams and become a writer.
Where’d You Go, Bernadette?
Starring: Cate Blanchett, Billy Crudup, Kristin Wiig
After the release date being moved 3 times, this movie has finally made its way to theaters! It follows Bernadette Fox, a former architect with a nice family life who suddenly disappears. Her family sets out on an adventure to find her. After moving the release date so many times, now I need to solve this mystery of Bernadette’s disappearance!
47 Meters Down: Uncaged
Starring: Corinne Foxx, Sophie Nélisse, Sistine Stallone, John Corbett
I never would’ve guessed 47 Meters Down would get a sequel, but I need to remind myself that everything gets a sequel these days. 47 Meters Down: Uncaged is different from the first movie because they’re not in a cage and there are a few more sharks, I guess.
