What to Watch: January 11

January 11, 2019

It’s 2019 and that means a brand new year for movies! There was a major lull in cinematic releases since the beginning of the month, but it looks like that’s changing this weekend. Now that we’ve entered the second weekend of January, we’ll be seeing a more constant schedule of releases! So, what’s opening this weekend?

On the Basis of Sex

The empowering story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s fight for gender equality has expanded to all theaters this weekend. The film stars Felicity Jones as RBG and Armie Hammer as her husband, Martin.

The Upside

This remake of the 2012 French film, The Intouchables, stars Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston, and Nicole Kidman. It’s the story of a wealthy quadriplegic and his new assistant who bring each other joy in unlikely circumstances. We’ll see if Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston can make this a memorable one. It will be difficult to live up to the original film

A Dog’s Way Home

Wow, do you think the dog will get home? I just can’t tell based on the information the trailer gives me. If you prefer to see movies with canine narration, A Dog’s Way Home is the way to go this weekend!
