1917 Review: Race Against The Clock

January 11, 2020

There’s no denying there have been a lot of war movies throughout the decade, but 1917 brings something new to the table. Sam Mendes’s film combines the best in direction, cinematography, and performance to create a cinematic masterwork that must be seen on the big screen

Jumanji: The Next Level: An Unnecessary Sequel

January 8, 2020

I wanted to like Jumanji: The Next Level, but its weak humor and repetitive storyline lead to an unnecessary sequel. Just watch the last movie if you want to have a fun time with the same cast.

Marriage Story Review: Somebody Hurt Me Too Deep

December 13, 2019

What I love about Marriage Story is the three-dimensional characters, intellectual writing, and phenomenal performances. This is a film with depth that peels back a new layer with each passing scene. It’s not a cut and dry situation. You have to look at all sides to truly understand the story of Nicole and Charlie. It may not be a smooth ride, but it’s worth the emotional rollercoaster.

Honey Boy Review: Tales From A Traumatic Childhood

December 10, 2019

Honey Boy is an honest and raw portrait of a painful childhood caught in a state of turmoil. This is like watching a form of cinematic therapy. Shia LaBeouf and Noah Jupe give awards-worthy performances in this heartbreaking tale of a childhood lost.

Harriet has some screenplay and editing missteps but remains a story that should be seen to appreciate the astounding impact of Harriet Tubman’s legacy.
